Local Councils –
Who does what?
At present Rushden is served by three tiers of local
government. The Town Council serves the Parish
of Rushden, whilst East Northamptonshire Council
and Northamptonshire County Council both
provide services to the wider area.
Rushden Town Council
was formed in 2000 and has
21 members representing 5
wards. The Council meets
on Tuesday evenings at
Rushden Hall and has the
following main committees
(all committee and Council
meetings are open to
the public):
• Policy and Resources
• Planning Consultative
• Community Services
The day-to-day administration
of the Town Council is dealt
with by the Town Clerk and
seven members of staff, who
are all based at Rushden Hall.
