Toys, a traditional business
that has been resident on the
High Street for over 65 years,
and others. All offer expert
advice and a friendly service to
their customers.
Newton Hall at the top of the
High Street overlooks the
picturesque St Mary’s Church
and brings an opportunity to
linger over a freshly baked cake
and a cup of tea or coffee at
Rushden’s well established tea
shop, Mrs B’s.

The appeal of Rushden High
Street is enhanced by some
attractive examples of late
Victorian and Edwardian
architecture. The banks in
particular, NatWest, HSBC
and Lloyds are all flamboyant
examples of the affluence of the
time. Decorated in stone with
strapwork, floral details, urns
and gargoyles they are more
in keeping with a city branch
than that of a small town. The
number and opulence of these
relics of a former era endow the
town with its unique qualities.
Whilst the High Street and
surrounding streets are the
main hub of shopping activity,
other areas such as Church
Street, Wellingborough Road
and Newton Road offer further
goods and services including
coffee shops, antique shops,
bicycle shops, beauticians,
hairdressers, pet groomers and
much more.
